Cyber Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (hereafter CUFS) collects the following personal information for use in admissions, management of academic affairs, provision of online educational services and so forth.

1. Items of Personal Information to be Collected : Name, gender, nationality, Korean heritage, home address, e-mail address, cell phone number, emergency contact information, academic background, occupational information (occupation type, industry), information on those with disabilities, account information, how one heard about CUFS, service usage log, access log, cookies, access IP information, password
2. Purpose of Collection and Use : University admissions, management of academic affairs, and online educational services
3. Retention and Usage Period : In principle, relevant data is destroyed without delay after the purpose of collection and use has been fulfilled. However, in the event that information must be retained in order to comply with the regulations of relevant laws, CUFS will retain personal information for the period of time stipulated by the relevant law.

CUFS collects the following unique identifying information for use in admissions, management of academic affairs, provision of online educational services and so on.

1. Personal Information Items to be Collected : Alien registration number
2. Purpose of Collection and Use : University admissions, management of academic affairs, online educational services, verification of academic record
3. Grounds for Collection: Article 24 (Limitation to Unique Identifying Information Processing) of the Personal Information Protection Act
4. Retention and Usage Period : Management of academic affairs (permanent), management of entrance examination (10 years)

CUFS collects the following sensitive information for use in admissions, management of academic affairs, provision of online educational services and so on.

1. Personal Information Items to be Collected : Disability, level
2. Purpose of Collection and Use : University admissions, management of academic affairs, online educational services, verification of academic record
3. Grounds for Collection: Article 34 of the higher education act(way of student selection), Article 35 of the higher education act enforcement decree(University admissions), management guidelines of academic affairs for on-line university
4. Retention and Usage Period : Management of academic affairs (permanent), management of entrance examination (10 years)

In principle, CUFS does not share personal information with outside parties.
However, according to Article 18 (Limitation to Out-of-Purpose Use and Provision of Personal Information) of the Personal Information Protection Act, exceptions will be made in the following cases:

1. If the individual providing the information gives special consent
2. If another law has special regulations
3. If prior consent is unable to be obtained, yet it is clearly determined that the individual or a third party requires the information for urgent matters of life, body or property, such as in the instance that the individual providing the information or their legal representative is in a state in which they are unable to express intent or their whereabouts are unknown
4. If the information is required for compiling statistics, academic research, etc. and the personal information will be provided in a form in which it is impossible to recognize specific individuals

However, even if one of the above cases should apply, personal information will not be shared when there are concerns that doing so may wrongfully violate the rights and interests of the individual or a third party.

Manage employee training for industry contractor organizations (for delivery purposes)

1. Institution of Provision: Institution (industrial company) with contracted education agreement
2. Item Provided: Name/date of birth/academic number/year of enrollment/academic department (major)/academic status/date of enrollment/date of graduation
3. Grounds for Provision: Cyber University Academic Affairs Guide
4. Retention and Usage Period: Until the relevant purpose for use ends
5. Management Department: Office of Admission Affair

CUFS collects the following personal information for use in admissions, management of academic affairs, provision of online educational services and so forth.

1. Items of Personal Information to be Collected : Photograph, occupational details (position name, position rank)
2. Purpose of Collection and Use : University admissions, management of academic affairs, and online educational services
3. Retention and Usage Period : In principle, relevant data is destroyed without delay after the purpose of collection and use has been fulfilled. However, in the event that information must be retained in order to comply with the regulations of relevant laws, CUFS will retain personal information for the period of time stipulated by the relevant law. CUFS provides the following personal information to the student council for school/division/department events and related activities.

1. Institution of Provision: CUFS student council
2. Items Provided: Name, cell phone number, division/department
3. Institution’s Purpose of Use: Division contact network, notices for division events, orientation, MTs, sending of graduation album, sending of alumni book, and other activities related to division/department events
4. Grounds for Provision: Student consent
5. Retention and Usage Period: Until the relevant purpose for use ends
